Missing Papa

signed byMaria Valencia Heredia
Hi Papa, I'm wondering how you are doing there, so I wanted to post a message here on your memorial wall. Thank you for visiting us in our dreams and know that you are doing okay. We miss you so much! Tomorrow we will celebrate Mother's Day and you are already in heaven with our Mother Mary and Lola Tatang. It must be an amazing Mother's Day Celebration. I am sure mama will miss you a lot when we celebrate it tomorrow. But we know that you always embrace her and show her your love. Please continue to watch over us and guide us. We always hope that you are happy and smiling. We love you very much and we miss you! Iya and the whole family

A Loving Tribute to our Papa Mario (Read to public during Memorial Services on 4/8/2022)

signed byMaria Valencia Heredia
Mario Catalino Cirineo Valencia November 25, 1943 – April 1, 2022 Our dear father Mario was born on November 25, 1943, in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Philippines to parents Pedro and Honorata, with two siblings Rodolfo Camilo and Paz Blanca. On June 27, 1973, he married the love of his life, Corazon. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters, and a son who is now an angel. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree of science in Civil Engineering from the National University in the Philippines. His love for music was extraordinary, transcending eras from long playing albums to cassette tapes, from Sony Walkman and MP3 players to You Tube and Apple Music. On family celebrations, he sings karaoke like a true crooner, singing songs of his favorite singers – Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Matt Monro, Engelbert Humperdinck, Jim Reeves, and so many more. One of his favorite songs is entitled “Smile”. He has a passion for movies and books, particularly suspense, thriller, mystery, espionage, legal or courtroom stories, he loved them all. We’ll treasure his collection of paperback and hardbound books, even his Kindle ebook reader and Hoopla Audiobooks. Our dear Papa easily adapted to change. He embraced technology and even owned the greatest number of gadgets in the family! And yet, he reminds us to be always present in the moment. To appreciate and be content of what you have and focus not on what is missing. His sense of time and organization is on point and reflected in everything he did. Food plays an important part in our family as he loves Filipino, Chinese, and Japanese dishes. We will never forget the happy memories cooking together in the kitchen all his favorite food. He had an amazing penmanship, wrote the most heartwarming love letters, and even had a great sense of fashion. He valued education and made sure we understand its importance, and that it’s a legacy. For his clients and colleagues, he was Engineer Valencia. A math expert, a smart and humble gentleman, a hardworking professional who puts quality over quantity. As a civil engineer, he designed structures of countless buildings in the Philippines and Kuwait. Up to this day, these buildings remain strong and standing. But more importantly, he has built a strong foundation for his family. Anchored in strong faith in God, prayers, love, and service. For some, he is a kind and loving Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin, Godfather, Mentor, and a Friend. All his in-laws loved and treasured him and considered him as their own. He is also a thoughtful neighbor who loves them like family. But for us, he is our dear Papa whose love, care, and support is beyond measure. His simple and humble life is a testament of his love for God and devotion to Our Lady. Papa never fails to remind us to attend Sunday Mass and pray the rosary daily. Though we long for his presence, we know he is now having the grandest party of his life as he joins his Creator. Message from the Family Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of you who came here today to join us and offer your prayers, help, and show love and support. To our family and friends in the Philippines who are extending their sympathy from across the globe, we appreciate your prayers and words of comfort We will never forget your kindness. I am sure our Papa is smiling down from heaven.
